Jabar Shumate is a Democratic Party member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 73 since 2004. He currently serves as Assistant Democratic Floor Leader. Shumate was re-elected in 2008 to a third term.[1]
Jabar Shumate was born January 26, 1976 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in public affairs and administration.[2] During his time at the university, he served as Student Body President. Jabar has currently been linked to Jillian Leggett, an insurance professional in the Tulsa area.[3] On February 13, 2011, Jabar proposed to Jillian at his church. They were married November 12, 2011.
